So you’ve got your paintball gear all lined up. You’ve got a protective mask that will let you see clearly and provide you with decent cover. You’ve got specially designed paintball jerseys and pants that are line with extra padding to absorb potential hits. And of course you’ve picked out one of the best paintball guns for your choice of weapon. What more could you use? Actually, when it comes to paintball play and paintball guns there are a lot of fun gadgets you can add onto your uniform. Here are a few suggestions:
Stock: If you have any experience in shooting rifles on a practice range then chances are you’ll be familiar with the rifle stock. There are adaptations of the stock available for many paintball guns as well. The stock attaches to the back of your paintball gun and allows you to tuck into your arm or shoulder to help steady the weapon. Most stocks can be purchased for about forty bucks.
Remote: Your first time out on a paintball field might have you using just the basics in paintball guns. You’ll soon learn how to capture the advantage and elevate your shooting power. One of those ways is with a remote. The remote is a special hose that runs from your air tank to your paintball gun. Every paintball gun needs compressed air to operate but that doesn’t mean you have to attach the tank to your gun. With a remote you’ll have more flexibility and shooting accuracy. You can also route your remote along your stock. One you use a remote, you won’t go back.
Packs: Take a look at a modern soldier’s uniform. They’ve got all kinds of packs. This allows them to hit the ground running knowing they are fully stocked with whatever they might need for the coming battle. Paintball play is no different. Once you leave your home base you’re on your own. There won’t be any resupply so you better carry what you need. Packs are available in all kinds of shapes and sizes. You can use your packs to carry additional ammo pellets, an air tank or special pellet tubes that can hold up to 150 rounds of paint ammo.
Smoke Grenades: Why not? The kinds of smoke grenades made available for paintball play aren’t harmful. But they can certainly provide cover. If your opposing team doesn’t know you’re carrying smoke with you, then you’ll also have the element of surprise on your side.
